Feeding and Mucking Training is an essential part of caring for the horses who make our adaptive horsemanship programs possible. Led by our volunteer Margarita, this hands-on training teaches volunteers how to safely and accurately feed our horses breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Participants will learn about the different types of grain, proper hay measuring, medication protocols, and how to clean and refill water buckets.
Volunteers will also learn how to properly muck a stall — because at TRS, we all pitch in to keep our barn clean, healthy, and welcoming. Understanding daily feeding routines and stall maintenance ensures our horses remain comfortable, safe, and ready to support the participants we serve.
Whether you’re new to barn life or looking to deepen your knowledge, this training provides practical skills that are vital to the well-being of our herd and the success of our program.
Please note: Volunteers must complete all required paperwork and register for the training through VicNet prior to attending.
