Chiclet has a big personality and an even bigger heart! Known for her signature roached mane (hello, mohawk!) and her beautiful, expressive brown eyes, Chiclet brings a special energy to the barn. She may be a little bossy at times, but she’s got the heart of a Thoroughbred—sweet, spirited, and always ready to shine. We’re so lucky to have this unique and lovable mare as part of our herd!

She came to us from a longtime TRS friend, Rebecca at Fox Hill Equestrian Center.

We’re grateful every day to have Austin in our herd and to witness the meaningful moments he helps create.

Dot

DOB: 2003
Breed: Canadian Quarter Horse

Dot is a beautiful mare who brings heart, steadiness, and a calm presence to every corner of the barn. A care lease from Rebecca Johnson of InStride, Inc., Dot quickly became a favorite among riders and volunteers thanks to her gentle nature and affectionate personality.

We are grateful to have Dot in our herd — she embodies the kindness, courage, and quiet magic that make our horses so special.

Blueberry

DOB: 2008
Breed: Quarter Horse

Blueberry loves people and attention! She is a kind, well-trained, and much-loved horse. She came to us from the wonderful family of Dr. Terry Swanson, DVM of Littleton Equine Medical Center. She was his granddaughter's first horse and did all the Western events. Arthritis in her elbow sidelined her from doing more but the Swansons thought she had more to give so they sent her our way.

With her patient, kind nature and excellent training, Blueberry is already proving to be a fantastic partner for our riders, and we are so grateful to have her as part of the TRS family.

Have a good
horse for us?

We’re always grateful when owners consider TRS as a meaningful next chapter for their equine partner. Our horses play an essential role in adaptive riding and ground-based programs, and we carefully select partners who are physically sound, well-trained, and genuinely enjoy connecting with a wide range of people.

Horses in our program receive attentive daily care, structured exercise, turnout, and plenty of affection from riders, volunteers, and staff. Because the work requires a calm, steady temperament and consistent performance, we look for horses who are sound at the walk, trot, and canter; have excellent ground manners; are confident in new situations; and are generally under 20 years old with no significant health concerns.

If you believe your horse may be a good fit, we’d love to learn more. Our evaluation process includes an initial questionnaire, an on-site assessment, and a short trial period to ensure your horse is comfortable, happy, and suited to the work. We also honor first right of refusal for donors when a horse eventually retires from our program.
