
Occasionally, horses want to increase their speed when a client is on their back. The Right Step PATH-certified instructor Myleah Coleman demonstrates how to handle this situation to slow the horse down.

One of the responsibilities of a volunteer horse leader is tacking up a horse for a lesson. Morgan Griffith explains the steps in order. Bookmark this so you can find it later. 1) Tack room: Look at the lesson sheet, get out the tack and the grooming bag. 2) Put the tack near the cross-ties. 3) Get the horse from their stall or paddock. 4) Groom: curry, hard brush, soft brush, and hooves. 5) Tack up: saddle pad, saddle, girth.
