Meet Our Horses

Picture

Archie

Before coming to The Right Step, Archie was a very much-loved trail, backyard and arena horse. His owner moved to another continent and wasn't able to bring Archie along, so she found a place for him at TRS. Archie loves attention and is up for any activity. He loves playing in the water!

Birthyear: 2004
Breed: Quarter Horse
Favorite Snack: Apples
Favorite Horse: Still trying to find a friend.  He does better with people than other horses.

Archie is very grateful for his sponsors:
Amy Hefestay
Kent O'Connor

Challenger

Challenger was donated by Lexlin Ranch after The Right Step won a Facebook contest in 2016. He is the first horse that The Right Step owned! Gypsy Vanners are known for their intelligence and kindness; they are sometimes referred to as  “Golden Retrievers with Hooves.” This is a great embodiment of Challenger's personality. He is always looking to learn a new trick and meet a new person. Challenger is currently "on vacation" in the mountains. He is learning important skills from older horses that he hopes to bring back to his clients very soon.

Birthyear: 2013

Breed: Gypsy Vanner
Favorite Snack: Anything!
Favorite Horse:  Click (in his herd in the mountains)

Challenger is very grateful for his sponsors:

Chiclet

Chiclet is kind, patient, and gentle.  She is well trained and always ready to do what is asked for her.  She came from a hunter/jumper barn and definitely likes adaptive riding better than jumping!

Birthyear: 2007

Breed: Norwegian Fjord
Favorite Snack: Just about anything but she is on a diet so she can't have treats. She will take love and kisses.
Favorite Horse: FredBob

Chiclet is very grateful for her sponsors:
Deborah Gardner-Evans
Patricia Kallery
Linda McOskar

FredBob

FredBob is a gentle soul who loves his work. He is very intuitive and works extra hard to do his very best for each and every client.  He was a much-loved backyard horse who moved to a hunter/jumper barn.  He's trained to be a show horse but excels at his adaptive riding job.

Birthyear: 2004
Breed: Quarter Horse
Favorite Snack: Peppermints
Favorite Horse: Chiclet

FredBob is very grateful for his sponsors:
Sue Anglim

JP

Before coming to The Right Step, JP was living at Believe Ranch and Rescue in Longmont. They rescued him from a kill pen about 8 months before he come to TRS, so we don't have a lot of information on him. JP is just getting to know his job and his clients but so far, he is loving his new job and meeting new people.

Birthyear: 2006
Breed: Grade-unknown
Favorite Snack: Anything!  Snacks are a wonderful new concept!
Favorite Horse: Anyone

JP is very grateful for his sponsor:

Splash

Splash is a sweet girl with a sensitive soul. She likes to connect with people in her own time, but once she chooses to connect, she is the sweetest friend! Splash loves to be groomed, pet, and ridden. Her gentle demeanor and big, smooth strides make her a great choice for both adult and children riders. Splash likes to take care of new riders and she tries her hardest to do whatever her rider asks.

Birthyear: 2004
Breed: Paint
Favorite Snack: Grapes
Favorite Horse: Splash prefers two legged friends.

Splash is very grateful for her sponsor!
